Which is better in the long run, a dental plan or a dental insurance?

I am retired now, just me and my wife. I have looked at dental plans and dental insurance (which is expensive). We'll need more dental work done in the near future, whish is better to go with for the long run?Bailey

I'm looking for an individual dental plan and I'm coming across terms I don't know. One of which is "6 month elimination period." I have no idea what this means. Please help.Clinton

So that I don't have to pay any fees. oh because I have one real crappy insurance and one great one and like the good one covers 90% of one procedure and the other one can cover the last 10 %, the other procedure is covered 50% by one and also ...
